Lōkahi Lomilomi • Traditional full body massage

Lōkahi Lomilomi is the form of treatment by our kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva. In this treatment we follow carefully his teaching, working close to the bones and expanding the space into the joints. The bones are the focus, as according to the Hawaiian traditional medicine our strength and ancestral knowledge are stored in them. Modern Western science is also recognizing the importance of healthy bones. This treatment is effective to reduce the muscle spasm and hyper-contraction, relieves the complaints in the joints, provides flexibility to the fascia, stimulates nerves and organs and supports in the prevention of chronic inflammation.

Lomilomi AlohaSpirit • Full body massage

AlohaSpirit Lomilomi is the form of treatment developed by our kumu Noëlle Delaquis, that integrates different Lomilomi genealogies. This treatment has the effectiveness of a Lōkahi Lomilomi together with the flow of the long connecting strokes and the tridimensional work (up and underbody work) of a more modern version of Lomilomi. In addition to the above mentioned benefits, there is a deep sense of connection with oneself, the environment and one own’s source of power

LOMILOMI MO’O • Massage on the floor

Lomilomi Mo’o is our massage on the floor. It is performed with the feet and without oil. Lomilomi Mo’o is one of the original forms of massage and is practiced in many cultures. Our form of Lomilomi Mo’o was developed by our teacher Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva following the ancient tradition. Lomilomi Mo’o enables intensive treatment of lower back complaints in particular, such as sciatica or problems with the sacroiliac joint.
The massage also helps with pain in the hips, legs and feet, as well as it provides an unprecedented smooth intensity and release of blockages in the back.

Lomilomi Pa'akai • Salt peeling massage

Lomilomi Pa’akai is a full-body salt scrub massage with Hawaiian salt. Salt has always been revered in Hawai’i and is used not only for food but also for medicine and ceremonies. The scrub made from pure Hawai’i salt – “Pa’akai” – removes excess water and toxins from the body, refines the skin texture and stimulates blood circulation. This treatment has been developed by Tūtū Myra and Kumu Noëlle Delaquis of AlohaSpirit.

Lomilomi Noho • Sitting massage

Lomilomi Noho is our seated massage. Developed by our teacher Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva, Lomilomi Noho is performed without a table, without oil and without changing clothes. Due to the seated position, Lomilomi Noho is particularly suitable for complaints in the upper body and is effective against pain and tension in the neck, shoulders, back, chest and arms.

In the traditional Hawaiian health system and Lomilomi I found a catalyst for my personal development and a way to support others in their well-being and self-care path. Part of the proceeds go back to Hawai’i and support local foundations that foster Hawaiian healing arts and culture. Here the foundations that have been mostly supported so far with our own and our clients’ contributions:
In the Puna district (Hawai’i - Moku o Keawe Island) founded by Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva, who was the Chief Operating Office. Ohana Learning Institute aimed to design and implement health research, education, community services in Lomilomi and Hawaiian medicinal plants. The owl is the symbol for OLI. “The native culture of Hawai'i holds a deep respect for the owl. Like other cultures, kanaka maoli consider the owl to reflect wisdom and the ability to see into the kaona, or hidden nature of things.” By Kumu Dane Silva
Ohana Learning Institute (OLI)
Foundation in the Kona district (Hawai’i - Moku o Keawe Island) founded by Kumu Keala Ching Nā Wai Iwi Ola (NWIO) Foundation was founded September 19. 2000 to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and practices through hula protocol and ceremonies, the use and study of the Hawaiian language and by embracing the stories of our kūpuna past, present and future.

NOËLLE DELAQUIS
My first and foremost thank you is towards my kumu Lomilomi and Hula Noëlle Delaquis. She is a relentless powerhouse of strength and inspiration. Her activism, integrity towards the Hawaiian culture, focus and determination to reach the unthinkable have no comparison in its kind. Since the first phone call with her in 2011 I realized that this was a significant encounter in my life. Many think that we are sisters. Somehow they are right. There is not a hierarchy between soul and biology.

Kumu Noëlle is the co-founder of AlohaSpirit GmbH and Lomilomi Lōkahi teacher and was honoured with the title of Po'okela «Lōkahi Lomilomi» for Europe by Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva. She was an activist for the protection of dolphins, started her career in bodywork as Water-Shatsu therapist and has been living the Hawaiian healing arts (Lomilomi and Hula) since 1996, becoming also kumu (teacher) Hula. She is also a psychosocial advisor. Thanks to her efforts and vision the Lomilomi method was a recognized by the Swiss health authorities (ASCA and EMR) as a complementary therapy and supported by several medical insurances.

KUMU DANE KAOHELANI SILVA
He was a humble genious. A pioneer and the emblem of the integrative medicine. For me a unique role model in pursuing a strong foundation in the Hawaiian culture, traditions and healing arts, and at the same time the complement and enhancement of this ancient wisdom with the scientific evidences. He gave us the fuel to research, expand and share on key topics like inflammation and immunity, anatomy, biology, phytotherapy, amongst others. Thanks to him I came back to my roots and my vocation. Kumu Dane transitioned to the other world and continues to inspire and support us from where he is.

KUMU KEALA CHING
I met Kumu Keala in August 2011, when I had no clue about this culture, when attending my first course in Self-Ho’oponopono. Being in its presence was peaceful. I was inspired by the unconscious learning and wellbeing that I was feeling. The journey had started. And Kumu Keala is a strong presence in my path. A source of ALOHA and a solid foundation and of knowledge in Hawaiian culture, Ho’oponopono and Hula. “Kumu Keala Ching is a Hawaiian cultural educator, composer, song writer, and spiritual advisor to many Hawaiian organizations. Tūtū Myra Delaquis

A wise, compassionate and elegant woman, co-founder of AlohaSpirit with her daughter kumu Noëlle Delaquis. Even before meeting her personally I was intrigued by her presence, as her wisdom was palpable. I finally had the luck of meeting her in person, as she visited us during the Lomilomi workshops. She is a role model in determination, resilience and living her mission.

Pam Baretto Silva

Pam is to me the living and walking example of ALOHA (Akahai – kindness, Lōkahi - unity, ʻOhia’I’o - truth, Haʻahaʻa, – humility and Ahonui – patience). She was an OR operating room nurse, wife of kumu Dane Silva, now a specialist of officinal plants and herbs. She was behind the smooth flow of the workshops, providing for everyone and making sure we all could focus on the content, as she took care of the uncountable details behind it. Aloha is her superpower, so as she is a wise reader of people. Thank you, dear Pam, for your being.

Kumu Jeana Iwalani Naluai

I had the honour to share time with Kumu Jeana during her first visit to Switzerland in 2014, so as I had the pleasure to learn from her during several workshops. She is a role model in the new generation of Lomilomi teachers, being able to deliver the Hawaiian healing art on the deep fundament of anatomy and physiology gained as a physiotherapist. I also loved her didactic, her gentleness and talk stories, so as her ability to connect to a wide variety of people. She is extremely generous in her way of sharing her ‘ike (knowledge). She is currently the holder of the Kua Lua, the ancient form of Lomilomi on the floor treated with feet and knees. I was fascinated by this art and integrate it in my work, especially in the Lomilomi Mo’o (massage on the floor).

Kumu Michelle Manu

Kumu Michelle is a powerhouse of energy, strength and fun. Kumu Michelle is “a 10th Black Belt and teacher Kumu Lua of the rarely seen ancient Hawaiian Combat Art, Lua. Kumu Manu is currently the only high-ranking female teacher of this art and currently the only public representative of a Hawai’ian woman warrior in over 200 years.” She is an actress and fight choreographer, and a professional Polynesian dancer and teacher, besides holding a Juris Doctorate. Lomilomi, Hula (dance) and Lua (martial art) are closely related. A figure (that would normally mirror the qualities of an animal) would develop into a dance, a combat action or a healing stroke, depending on the aim and setting. With Kumu Michelle I can see more clearly this connection amongst the three Hawaiian Healing Arts.
